Moralis Academy Review — Is It Worth It?
Thank you for checking out my review of Moralis Academy (former Ivan On Tech Academy)! These will be my honest thoughts from being in the academy for more than a month.
These are my independent thoughts based on my own experience from the academy.
So first off, you might be asking if the academy is for you - is it worth it? can I join without prior experience? etc…
I’ll just share very quickly why I joined the academy, and then I’ll get more into the pros and cons and my conclusions.

Why I Joined
Personally, I’d consider myself a complete beginner in blockchain and programming. Although I’ve been following Ivan on Youtube for about a year now, I still didn’t understand the basics of how blockchain really works.
Enrolling in the academy was kind of a natural step for me to get more serious and get more into cryptocurrencies and blockchain and the technology behind it, rather than just investing in different projects.
My intention is not to make it into a full-time career right now, but I’m keeping my mind open.
Since you’re reading this review, you might be interested in making blockchain and crypto into a full-time career, or maybe you’re just trying to learn more about cryptocurrency and blockchain.
Some people would argue that you can find information for free on youtube and stuff like that, and yes, that’s true. However, from what I’ve found so far enrolling in the academy and other online courses (not blockchain related), everything is a lot easier when the information is in the same place and structured in a way that makes sense.
There is a lot of misinformation out there, so I’ll gladly pay to get educated by someone who really knows how to educate and who has put the time into making easy-to-follow instructions.
So, with this being said, you might ask what’s inside the academy.
What Courses Are Inside The Moralis Academy?
Crypto For Beginners
This is basically a crash course for complete cryptocurrency beginners. I completed it but I already knew a lot of the things in the course. However, this is a perfect start if you’re not familiar with the basics of crypto exchanges, wallets, what bitcoin is, how to buy bitcoin and so on.
Blockchain & Bitcoin 101
This is an in-depth course on Blockchain and Bitcoin technology and how they work “under the hood”. This was an eye-opener for me and one of the reasons why I joined. I wanted to know the essentials and core technology of blockchain and bitcoin. And I doubt anyone would be able to teach it better than Ivan himself. Lots of takeaways from this course.
Ethereum 101
This is not as in-depth as Blockchain & Bitcoin 101 course, but you will be able to get a better grasp of the ethereum technology after you’ve completed the first courses. I got a lot of new information and a better understanding of how ETH really works, although I’ve been using the Ethereum mainnet for half a year.
Blockchain Business Masterclass
I haven’t had the time to go through this yet, but I’ve looked through a bit of the content, and this one is massive. If this was sold separately, they would’ve been able to take a massive price for this. This makes me confident that Ivan and his team actually want to educate and help people to go full-time crypto and become a blockchain developer for a very affordable price.
DeFi 101
This was a course I enrolled in in the summer of 2020 after DeFi got hyped. This course helped me get MetaMask installed and make my first transactions on Uniswap. This enabled me to become eligible for the famous Uniswap airdrop, so it paid off insanely well. So, if you want to go deep into the DeFi jungle, this will be a good start for you. They’ve also added a DeFi 201.
Ethereum Smart Contract Programming 101
If you’re interested in learning blockchain programming, this is one of the courses for you. I haven’t started programming yet, but I’m looking forward to trying it out. They also have a course on JavaScript programming for blockchain, which is a fundamental piece if I understand everything correctly.

- Ivan doesn’t teach everything, but the other teachers are really good as well. Just be aware that they have different “charisma” and ways of teaching.
- You obviously need to be a bit interested in technology etc, else you might get bored. It obviously requires time and to learn blockchain and crypto.
Is Moralis Academy Worth it?
If you want to learn more about what blockchain and crypto is, how you can get involved in it and start a side-hustle or full-time career in the field, then the moralis academy will be a great place to start.
